Meet Pastor Joseph Owens and First Lady Patty Owens

A Life Transformed. A Ministry Called. A Vision Fulfilled.

Pastor Joseph Owens, a native of Northport, Alabama, is one of thirteen children born to John and Susie Owens. Raised in a Christian home, he was taught the truth of God’s Word from an early age. Like many, he strayed from those teachings in his youth and found himself battling addiction. But one night, broken and desperate, he cried out to God to clean him up and give him a new life.

From that moment in 1982 until today, Pastor Owens has walked faithfully with the Lord, serving Him with all his heart. He surrendered his life to ministry, pastoring a local church before receiving a divine vision through a dream—God showed him a Holy Temple that would one day be called Greater Faith

Tabernacle Ministries

The journey hasn’t been easy. In 2005, Pastor Owens was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and given just two weeks to live. But through unwavering faith and God’s healing power, he beat the odds. His miraculous healing is one of his greatest testimonies, and he shares it often to encourage others to trust God—even when the circumstances seem impossible.

First Lady Patty Owens

First Lady Patty Owens is a native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and the fourth of nine children born to Woodrow and Catherine Williams. Raised in a home grounded in strong values, she spent 35 years serving her community through her work at a local bank—ministering to many along the way. After retiring, she stepped fully into her calling, dedicating her time and energy to the ministry and her family.

Pastor Owens met First Lady Patty at her place of employment, and the two have now been married for 28 years. Together, they have built a beautiful family with 3 children, 10 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren—a legacy of faith, love, and service.

Pastor and First Lady Owens share one unwavering mission: “To win as many souls as possible to Christ.” Their lives are living proof of redemption, healing, and the power of walking by faith. They lead Greater Faith Tabernacle Ministries with humility, compassion, and a deep desire to see lives transformed by the gospel.
